The problem has become global. Is there nothing planned at the UN? A show of global unity against Nuclear power for energy or weapons? I couldn't rally starving cats to a food dish, but I wish someone who has charisma could pick up this ball. The Dalai Lama, the Holy Father, Pope Francis...you get the idea. Can anyone help guide this. Imagine Earth Day celebrated at the UN or DC.
Good point Moongrace, where the hell are the celebs. Months ago we saw Peter Coyote stand-up and speak, but there has been nothing since. It's perplexing. Penn? Sarandon? Hemingway? Costner? All of these have made environmental pleas and statements before. so...what the hell?? I'm not trying to equate any of these types with the religious leaders that you mentioned, but we need voices from every influence.
moongrace, a super CHEAP fundraiser idea to get people together is a rant-off.
You get cooperation from a bar (or restaurant). You announce your event and all you need is a mic or a karaoke set. People PAY x-amount a minute to rant. Usually 1-3 minutes. It is like stand up comedy and a crowd is appreciated usually by the bar.
Awesome idea, my Friend! Maybe the Northeast will be thawed enough to get Earth Day rants locally. Can you imagine how the local Amish would react to this? All this time, they were so right. Nuclear power for electricity.....oops!
Celebs wont help they are puppets of elite, the face their precious careers being destroyed if they step out of line! Great idea RANT OFF lol
My mind is open, I rarely judge, I'm approachable, I am compassionate, I sometimes get shit wrong, I think I'm funny & tell bad jokes, I'm a good person with a big heart, I'm witty & smart & at times I am sweet & at times Im wanker that's because I'm from Down Under, its a place called Melbourne, in bloody fkn Australia!!!

starlight: Posting the links in the chat now you have made the thread is perhaps a mistake, I say this in all good faith and only because eventually the chat will be erased by new chat posts which, though slow, require space of their own. Best wishes for 2019!

millie: Hi, Starlight. No problem. I posted here because the thread is not visible to the outside world, just members apparently. I post in enough other places it's not a big deal. Thanks for the correction, and Happy New Year!

starlight: Are you experiencing difficulties building a thread? For certain things such as expanding pictures one has to log in but building a thread is still possible I’m sure. Don’t give up just yet!

starlight: Linking to YouTube here will result in slower page redraws over time on a thread as pages grow, so that’s frustrating! Linking to multiple vids in a single

starlight: post will result in slow page redraw, cumbersome. So don’t try to post Dana’s entire output retrospectively but stuff you have a comment on .... might be a good balance? It’s tricky! I have just one thread and go there to post my contribution over time.

millie: For #Fukushima's eighth anniversary (3/11), netc.com was taken down so we can't see the EPA radiation levels. Therefore we should conclude that everything is a-ok. Not.
